Irrigation First Ranking in 2020 Agricultural Investments
3.4 billion lira of the public investments for the agricultural sector was allocated to irrigation.
The first of the investments was for irrigation, the later rankings took crop production and forestry.
The investment program for 2020 includes 289 agricultural projects with a total project amount of 187.3 billion liras and a 2019 cumulative expenditure of 79.3 billion liras.
In the investment planning to be carried out this year, 5.2 billion liras has been reserved for the agricultural sector.
It has been announced that 1 billion 99 million liras of this planned investment project will be used for new projects, 3 billion 748 liras will be used for ongoing projects, and 330.8 million liras will be used for study projects.
3.4 billion lira of the investment project for agriculture was allocated for irrigation. It will be used for 192 projects to be made in the irrigation area. A portion of 3.3 billion liras of irrigation investments will be implemented by the General Directorate of DSI within the scope of 184 projects.
Agricultural investments, after irrigation, were planned for plant production with 747.2 million liras. This investment project includes 48 projects. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry undertook the 292.7 million lira part of the plant production investments, while the DSI took the 250 million lira part.
While the forestry sector continues the plant production area with 24 projects and an investment of 719.9 million liras, 703.3 million liras of the investments in this field will be made by the General Directorate of Forestry.
